LIVESTOCK CLASSES

BEEF CATTLE

 

Judge: Mr P Sellars, Derbyshire

 

Entries will not be accepted on Show Day. Judging will begin at 11:00 am. All Stock entered in the Cattle Classes must be on the Show Ground half an hour before judging and must not be removed before 3.00 pm unless by prior arrangement with the cattle stewards.

CLASS 37 -      Best butcher’s Steer. 450kg and under

CLASS 38 -      Best butcher’s Steer. 451kg to 550kg

CLASS 39 -      Best butcher’s Steer. 551kg and over

CLASS 40 -      Best butcher’s Heifer, 450kg and under

CLASS 41 -      Best butcher’s Heifer, 451kg and over

CLASS 42 -      Best pair butcher’s Beast

 

Animals will be weighed on the Showground; any change needed in classes will be made at the discretion of the stewards.

 

NOTE:  Classes may be split or amalgamated on the day depending on entries.

 

All exhibitors will receive £20 appearance money on completion of the Judging.

 

Prizes:      1st £30          2nd £20          3rd £15

 

· A fourth Prize of £4 will be awarded where there are more than eight Exhibits

· Entry fees for all Beef Classes, £3 each entry

· A CHAMPION PRIZE of £20 for the best Beast in Classes 37 to 41 kindly donated by Mr G Spence

· A RESERVE CHAMPION PRIZE of £15 for the Reserve Champion beast in Classes 37 to 41 kindly donated by Mr B. Allsop.

S43 SWINDELLS BROS. CHALLENGE CUP, for the Best Heifer

S44 BARRY ALLSOP MEMORIAL TROPHY, for the Reserve Champion Beast.

SHEEP

Judge: Mr C A Watson. Lincolnshire

Entries will not be accepted on Show Day. Judging will be at 11.00 am and is open to any breed or cross breed. ALL sheep must NOT be trimmed - this rule will strictly enforced.

 

CLASS 46        For the Best Pen of three breeding Ewes

CLASS 47        For the Best Pen of three Gimmers, with not more than 2 broad teeth

CLASS 48        For the Best Pen of three Butchers Lambs

CLASS 49        For the Best Pen of three Cross Bred Ewe Lambs suitable for breeding

CLASS 50        Ram Class, any breed six months and over

Note:     Lambs to be shown in one class only, either 48 or 49.

S51 -     SHELDON & SONS CUP: for the Champion Pen of Sheep to be won 3 in 5 before being won outright.

S52 -     T H SHELDON & W PELL TANKARD: given by the late Mr R Davies for the Best Pen of Lambs in the above Classes. This trophy must be               won three times in succession before being won outright.

S53 -     W E HEMPHREY PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP: for Best Pen of Cross-bred Lambs in Show sired by an English Breed of Ram

S54 -     C C PRICE PERPETUAL CUP: for the Best Pen of White faced Sheep kindly given by Mr  C J Price

 

Trophies and prizes to be presented on completion of judging.
